Can Aqua Broadcast Cobalt transmitters operate on DC power?

Yes

DC operation is supported across the Cobalt range, but with key differences:

  • Cobalt 1U models (10W / 30W / 50W / 100W) can operate on 48V DC power and still deliver full RF output power. This makes them ideal for off-grid, solar-powered, or backup installations where AC mains may not be available.
  • Cobalt 2U, 3U, and 4U models (300W to 5000W) also support 48V DC input — but only to keep the control system running. This allows users to monitor the transmitter status remotely, even during an AC power outage. However, no RF power is available on these models when operating solely on DC.
