This guide will show you how to replace a PSU on any COBALT 2U Fully Featured FM Transmitter. This is applicable to the models C-300, C-700 & C-1000
You will need to remove the unit from the Rack, and place it on a suitable and stable work surface.
Requirements:
- Replacement PSU
- Pozi Screwdriver
- Remove all the screws indicated with the RED arrows from the Front panel
- NOTE - there are a further 2 screws on both sides which
must also be removed. - Gently pull the the Front Panel forward, and disconnect the connector to the front panel, this you will see when you pull the front panel forward.
The RF monitor connection can be left in place. However if you want to remove it from the front panel, you can carefully undo the securing nut, and push it through to free it from the front panel. Do not disassemble the front panel any further than this stage. - Once the front panel is free from the rest of the unit, you will see grid panel. This also needs to be removed. Please undo
all of these as indicated by the RED arrows showing each screw placement.
Now the grid has been removed, you can see the PSU you need to replace. - Unscrew the fixing screw shown, which is located under the bottom of the Transmitter. This also locks the PSU in place
from underneath.
Once the screw underneath has been removed, you will need to go back to the front of the unit.
On the PSU, there is a locking screw as shown in the image above. Undo this screw and pull out the handle and remove the old PSU. (Please note the orientation of the PSU)
Next, install the new PSU making sure it is seated correctly and pushed all the way back into the unit. Secure the front locking screw.
Please repeat the disassembly steps in reverse from this stage on. Once complete, you can re-install the Transmitter.
