Advanced Configs & Modulation Failover – Quick Guide

What Is a Config?

  • A Config is like an advanced preset—nearly all transmitter settings can be saved.

  • Configs can be triggered by:

    • Scheduler events

    • GPIO

    • SNMP commands

    • Modulation Failover (example shown below)

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Create a Main Config

Assuming you’ve already completed:

  • Frequency

  • RF Power

  • Audio Input Setup

Now:

  1. Go to Automations > Configs.

  2. Click New, give your config a Name and optional Description.

  3. Select the sections to save (minimum: Audio Processor and Exciter & Stereo).
    Best practice: select all sections.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Scroll down to review all saved parameters.

  6. Click Activate on this main config.
➤ It will now show as the active config at the top.

2. Create a Backup Audio Config

Let’s assume your backup is a USB audio source.

  1. Go to Audio Processor and change input to Audio Player In (USB).

  2. Save the change.

  3. Go back to Automations > Configs, click New.

  4. Name and describe this config (e.g., “USB Backup”).

  5. Again, select the relevant sections (same as before).

  6. Click Save.

Now you have:

  • Main Config (Analog Input)

  • Backup Config (USB Input)

3. Set Up Modulation Failover

  1. Go to Automations > Modulation Failover.

  2. Toggle Enable to ON (top right).

  3. Under Primary Source, choose the Main Config.

    • You’ll see the current modulation input shown.

  4. Click Configure:

    • Set Audio Threshold.

    • Set Set Delay: time before switching to backup (e.g., 5 seconds).

    • Set Reset Delay: time audio must be stable before switching back (e.g., 5 seconds).

  5. Under Backup Source 1:

    • Toggle Enable to ON.

    • Select your Backup Config (e.g., USB).

    • Click Configure:

      • Set Threshold and Delay.

      • Enable Revert to Primary if you want it to switch back automatically when main audio returns.

  6. Click Save.

Live Test (Example Scenario)

  • If main audio is lost:

    • System detects silence.

    • Switches to Backup Source 1 (USB).

  • When main audio returns:

    • System detects it.

    • Reverts back to the Primary Source.

📝 All events are logged automatically.

Additional Notes

  • You can set up to 3 backup sources.

  • Each backup source requires its own Config.

  • Config files can be exported/imported—ideal for:

    • Backups

    • Transmitter cloning/setup

  • For complex switching or automation, contact Aqua Broadcast for training.
